Round two of the Narrogin and Districts Netball Association A-grade competition saw Olympics Gold and Williams meet for an anticipated clash on Friday night, with both teams coming off strong opening round wins.
The opening quarter started with both teams going goal for goal, with excellent shooting from Olympics’ Claire Conlan and Tenisha Harper, and Williams’ Megan Hardie and Bella Logie.
Williams put their foot down, scoring the 13 of the next 15 goals to lead at quarter time 16 goals to six.
The second quarter saw the scoring tighten up, with excellent pressure applied at both ends resulting in only nine goals scored for the quarter.
Olympics defenders Ellen Smith and Catherine Thornton had several intercepts and defensive rebounds in Williams’ goal circle, with Emmi Duff and Libby Boyce playing a tight defence against Conlan and Harper, resulting in Williams increasing their lead to 22 goals to nine at the main break.

The second half saw a change for Olympics with Liana Hancock coming into the shooting circle, with Williams largely remaining unchanged across the court.
Olympics were well-served by rotating Lee Conlan, Mikayla Buchanan, Jasmine Spanswick and Harper throughout out the centre position, trying to combat Williams’ mid-court strength of Sophie Beasley, Sienna McDonald, Maddy Petchell and Kaitlyn Hoy.
With strong delivery into Hardie and Logie, Williams took the win 53 goals to 30.
Umpires votes went to McDonald and Duff from Williams, with Thornton getting the nod from Olympics.
In the other A-grade match of the round, Cuballing got their first opportunity on court after a first-round bye.
After a 12-month hiatus from the A-grade competition and coming up against the newly promoted Flames, it was a keen match-up for both sides.
Cuballing came away with a dominant 62 to 21 win over the young side, with Jayeisha Ford, Regina Kickett and Chelsea Ugle receiving the umpire votes for the game.
