The Narrogin and Districts Netball Association’s A1 competition produced another exciting weekend of action during the Carpet Court sponsors’ round on July 31 and August 1.

The round 10 matches included a draw, a dominant performance from Wagin, and another important win for Wickepin, keeping the race for finals positions alive.

The standout contest of the round had Cuballing and Williams unable to be separated, playing out a thrilling 45-all draw.

In a match that ebbed and flowed throughout all four quarters, both sides showcased strong defensive pressure and accurate shooting.

Williams started the first quarter strongly, with excellent shooting from Bella Logie leading Cuballing 16-11.

Cuballing fought back, getting some critical rebounds from Taya Olman, and they only lagged by three goals at half-time.

Both teams worked hard in the third quarter, with Williams getting an uninterrupted four-goal run, which Cuballing responded to with five goals in a row.

Sophie Beasley from Williams and Chelsea Ugle from Cuballing both worked relentlessly to produce turnovers and bring the ball down for their teams in the mid-court, finishing the third quarter with Williams up by one goal.

The final quarter had everyone on their feet, with Cuballing’s Telisha Kickett and Logie going goal for goal in the dying minutes.

Neither side could make a decisive break, with the final siren confirming a deserved share of the points.

The result leaves Cuballing and Williams locked together on equal points at the top of the A-grade ladder, setting up an exciting finish to the season.

Best players were Chelsea Ugle for Cuballing, and Sophie Beasley and Kaitlyn Hoy for Williams.

In the second A-grade match, Wagin produced a 56-26 victory over Flames.

Best players were Faith McNab, Kaya-Lee Ta Kapa and Lilli Worth for Wagin, and Nikita Osgood for Flames.

On August 1 Wickepin strengthened their finals credentials with a solid 52-39 win over Olympics Gold, with Isabella Budby from Wickepin and Tenisha Harper from Olympics named best players.

The association also acknowledged and thanked Carpet Court for its continued support as sponsor of the round.
