NDNA 2025: Williams 1 dominant A1 division winners in gritty game over Olympics Gold

Williams 1 showed their dominance with a big win over Olympics Gold in the Narrogin and Districts Netball Association A1 competition on Saturday.
Williams 1 secured a confident 62-30 win over Olympics Gold, but the final scoreline doesn’t tell the full story of a competitive first half.
Olympics came out firing in the opening quarter, matching Williams goal for goal with sharp ball movement and tight defensive pressure.
Their shooters found early rhythm, and the mid-court held strong, with dynamic mother-daughter duo Lee and Claire Conlan keeping the game close and frustrating Williams’ usual fast-flowing style.
The first quarter score was 13-9 with Williams just edging ahead.

The second quarter continued in much the same way, with Olympics showing composure and intensity but as the quarter wore on, Williams began to find their footing.
A few crucial turnovers late in the first half from defenders Denver Henson, Jaimee Medlen and Kaitlyn Hoy allowed them to edge ahead and shift the momentum, leaving Olympics on 15 and Williams on 27 goals at half time.
From the third quarter onwards, Williams took full control of the game.
Their attacking combinations clicked into gear between feeder Sienna McDonald and goal shooters Clare Hardie, Megan Hardie and Bella Logie.
Their defensive unit continued to dominate, stifling Olympics’ ability to transition the ball and capitalise on chances for goals.
Despite a spirited first-half showing, Olympics couldn’t maintain the intensity, and Williams pulled away in the second half to seal a convincing victory.

Williams’ consistency and depth proved the difference, while Olympics can take heart from a strong start and will aim to build on that in upcoming fixtures.
Best player votes were awarded to Hannah Sherry, Sienna McDonald and Liz Fowler from Williams and Lee Conlan and Claire Conlan from Olympics.
In the other A1 clash Wagin 1 were big 75-31 winners against Wickepin 1.
