A steak and crayfish creation dubbed the Ultimate Taste of Irwin has proven a crowd- pleaser at a Port Denison pub, voted by the public as one of eight finalists in the WA’s Best Steak Sandwich Competition for 2021.

More than 60 venues across WA were in the running, but only four finalists were selected in country WA and Perth categories.

In the country section, Southerly’s Harbour View and Restaurant is vying for the honours against Bunbury’s The Bayview Bar, Settlers Tavern in Margaret River and the Kulin Community Hub.

The Southerly’s star sandwich features local produce, including Limousin beef from Tara Farm near Mingenew, crayfish from Port Denison and goat cheese from Bookara Goat Dairy.

The finalists will take part in a live cook-off at the AHA WA Hospitality Expo at Crown Perth on April 13 and 14.
