IDF releases footage of ‘Hamas terrorists looting an aid truck’ as Gaza starvation questioned

The Israeli Defence Force has published footage it claims shows a group of armed Hamas terrorists ‘looting an aid truck’.
Released on X, the IDF quoted a question: “Where is the aid?”
“Footage from just 4 days ago shows Hamas terrorists looting an aid truck,” the IDF wrote.
“This is the same organisation spreading false claims about a deliberate starvation campaign in Gaza.
“Make it make sense.”
The footage released by the IDF displays a banner dating the vision as July 25, 2025 and features a title: “Armed Hamas terrorists looting humanitarian aid.
The new footage comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a statement claiming “there is no starvation in Gaza”.
“There is no starvation in Gaza, no policy of starvation in Gaza, and I assure you that we have a commitment to achieve our war goals,” Mr Netanyahu wrote on X.
“We will continue to fight till we achieve the release of our hostages and the destruction of Hamas’ military and governing capabilities. They shall be there no more.”
Anthony Albanese says it’s “beyond comprehension” for Mr Netanyahu and his representative in Australia to claim there is no starvation happening in Gaza.
The Prime Minister told his caucus colleagues on Tuesday he was firmly committed to a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine, saying that was what Australia had always envisaged for the Middle East.
Mr Albanese was prompted in part by photos of starving children in Gaza to issue a strong personal statement on Friday that said the situation had gone beyond the world’s worst fears and called on Israel to comply with international law, including allowing the UN and aid organisations to carry out their work.
On Tuesday, Opposition Leader Sussan Ley was asked if she “believed” that starvation was occurring in Gaza.
“I have been incredibly distressed by the images I have seen, incredibly distressed,” Ms Ley said on Tuesday.
“I am pleased that aid is now starting to flow into Gaza and that Israel has changed some of those aid channel flows in order to achieve that.”
Although Ms Ley was “pleased” that aid was flowing, she affirmed that the war could end if Hamas released hostages.
“I want to make this very important point. The war could end tomorrow if Hamas, the terrorist organisation that is in charge in Gaza, releases the hostages, that have been kept since October 7, 2023, and surrender.”
Asked again if she believed there was starvation, Ms Ley added: “I’ve said I am very distressed by the images I’ve seen, it’s a complex situation on the ground.”
