Pets of Older People Boyup Brook is looking for volunteers to help with caring for the elderly’s pets.

The group was founded by Natalie Matson, who was inspired by the Busselton Pets of Older People group and said there was a need for the service.

“In Boyup Brook about 30 per cent of the population is over 65 and many of them have pets.

Ms Matson said they were still looking for volunteers and would take as many as they could get and touted the benefits to both volunteers and clients.

“Increased quality of life for the volunteers as well as the clients, increasing exercise and increasing pet contact,” she said.

“Pet’s improve quality of life and provide company for the over 65s.

“That’s the main thing, that they can have their pets and have help with their pets.”
