Boats set sail on inlet

The 2020 Walpole Regatta drew 139 boats to the Nornalup Inlet at the weekend.

Due to the weather conditions, the Sunday events were cancelled, but according to the organisers competitors enjoyed favourable sailing conditions on Saturday.

The regatta was open to numerous entry categories.

For the categories that contained different classes of boats, consistency prizes were awarded, based upon the average improvement in times made by the sailor, calculated using two out the three heats sailed.

Consistency prizes were also awarded in the races contested by boats of the same class, as well championship awards that were decided by the first boat across the finishing line.
