Police are investigating how a man received multiple stab wounds after he was found dumped on a road in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services found the man on Wellington Rd in Birrong suffering from stab wounds about 7pm.

He was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the man was abducted in Merrylands and repeatedly stabbed before being dumped in Birrong.

A crime scene has been established as Bankstown detectives investigate.
