Man in 60s rushed to hospital in critical condition after suspected backyard pool near-drowning in Kurrajong

A man has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after drowning in a backyard pool in Sydney’s west. Paramedics were called to an address on Gross Vale Rd in Kurrajong - west of Richmond - after 11.30am on Monday. A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said a man in his 60s was treated by officers before being rushed to Hawkesbury District Hospital in a critical condition. NewsWire understands the man was pulled unconscious from the pool by people at the property, who commenced CPR until paramedics arrived. Police are at the scene conducting inquiries. More to come.
