Man, 50, charged after allegedly performing Nazi salute before assaulting man in Epping road rage attack

A man has been charged after allegedly performing a Nazi salute before assaulting another man during an alleged road rage incident in a northwest Sydney suburb. In a statement, NSW Police said the driver allegedly stopped his black ute in front of another vehicle while driving along Carlingford Rd in Epping, about 6am on Tuesday. Police were told the driver of the ute allegedly exited the vehicle and used the offensive gesture, before assaulting a 48-year-old man. He is then alleged to have left the scene. Following inquiries, officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command attended an address on Cockatoo Rd in Erskine Park about 10.30pm. The 50-year-old man was arrested and taken to St Mary’s Police Station. He has been charged with knowingly display by public act Nazi symbol without excuse and common assault and fronted Penrith Local Court on Wednesday.
