One Australian is counting their lucky stars after winning a life-changing amount of $20 million in Thursday’s Powerball draw.
The division one prize was taken entirely by one Lotto player, who isn’t from WA.
The winning numbers were 27, 6, 35, 17, 11, 15 and 26, with the Powerball being 11.
There were 20 division two winners, who each took home $25,539.65, and again included no West Aussies.
However, of the 62 division three winners, nine were from WA, and all pocketed a decent $10,189.85 each.
Thursday night’s draw comes after a lucky Perth man on Monday cashed in big for the second time after winning a Millionaire Medley prize and pocketed a cool $1 million.
The 79-year-old man from Ellenbrook bought his ticket at Kingsway City Lottery Centre, with his numbers matching those to a division one prize in last Wednesday’s draw.
Remarkably, it is not the retiree’s first visit to the Lotterywest winners room, nor his first $1m Lotto win on a Wednesday, having previously claimed a $1m division one prize from a Wednesday draw in 2023.
The two-time Lotto winner said the experience felt familiar but no less exciting, with the family-man eager to share his news with his children.
Another fortunate West Aussie became an instant winner at the weekend, with a ticket sold at Florida Beach Newsagency in Dawesville winning a division one Super66 prize worth almost $150,000.
Lotto players can next try their luck in the Superdraw on September 5 having the chance to win a share in a $20 million division one prize pool in the super-sized Saturday Lotto event.
