Keperra Woolworths plunged into lockdown after teens allegedly pull items off shelves, turn on shoppers in Brisbane’s northwest

A shopping centre has been plunged into lockdown after a group of teenagers began wreaking havoc in a Woolworths store in Brisbane’s northwest. Footage uploaded to social media allegedly captures two of the teens pacing the aisles of the Keperra Woolworths at Great Western Super Centre, pulling items from shelves and leaving them strewn on the floor. Angry shoppers can be heard calling out two of them in another video. “Good on youse (sic) guys, well done,” one woman is heard calling out sarcastically as the teens pace the store. An evacuation alarm can be heard blaring in the background. One can be seen on her phone while taking a swig from a Powerade bottle. “Hey it’s gonna be nice seeing you guys go to f--king jail,” another man can be heard yelling. The same teenager can be seen shrugging her shoulders before attempting to spray the contents of the bottle over nearby shoppers. In another video, police officers can be seen entering the store and chasing the pair down. In a statement, Queensland Police said two girls had been arrested. “About 3pm police were called to a Ridgeline Way property following reports of a disturbance,” a spokesman said. “The shop was evacuated, and the two girls were taken into custody.” Police did not elaborate on whether charges had been laid. Great Western Super Centre and Woolworths have both been contacted for comment. Felicity Osborne, who works at the nearby Keirden Dry Cleaners, told The Courier Mail she heard the alleged incident was the result of a potential argument between the two suspected offenders. “There were a couple of people knocking everything off (the shelves)”, she told the outlet, adding the entire centre had to be evacuated for about half-an-hour. She said the Woolworths would be closed for the rest of the day.
