Central Regional TAFE will mark Reconciliation Week with a plan to better support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

The annual campaign promotes relationships between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians, with 2020 its 20th anniversary.

Starting today, CRTAFE will host several small-scale campus activities and online presentations, including the launch of a 2020-21 Reconciliation Action Plan.

Endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, the plan details CRTAFE’s support for indigenous students and staff, and reaffirms its commitment to ensuring all community members have equal opportunity. Students have created online resources about inspirational Aboriginal people, daily facts, and links to podcasts, websites and videos relating to Aboriginal culture and reconciliation.

CRTAFE managing director Bill Swetman said it was important not to forget Reconciliation Week during the global health crisis.
