Father and son allegedly attacked by group of teens on Melbourne’s Southbank

Five teenagers have been arrested after a man and his son were allegedly stabbed following an altercation on Melbourne’s busy Southbank.
Emergency services were called to the Yarra Promenade shortly before 2am on Sunday after reports of a brawl.
Police were told a 47-year-old man and his son, 23, were walking with other family members when a group of youths passed and bumped into one of their group.
A short verbal interaction ensued before the teens allegedly “set upon” the pair, who were allegedly physically assaulted and stabbed.

Sign upThe man and his son were rushed to hospital with suspected non-life threatening injuries.
Victoria Police said the teens were seen running from the scene, but were arrested a short time later by officers.
The teens, aged between 14 and 17, are now in custody and will be interviewed by police.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have filmed the altercation to please come forward.
