Warradarge, Mindarra, Nambeelup bushfire: Emergency warning issued, residents urged to act now to survive

An army of firefighters and emergency services are continuing to tackle four out-of-control blazes across WA as one of the emergency bushfire warnings was downgraded.
Local residents are warned that their lives and homes are at risk as firefighters respond to bushfires burning east of Mandurah, northeast of Jurien Bay and north and southeast of Gingin.
At about 3.30pm, a fire near Brigadoon was downgraded to an advice level but has not been entirely contained.
The blaze, which was located about 15km east of Ellenbrook, burned about 380 hectares of land.
Emergency Services said the cause of the fire was accidental and are continuing to monitor the situation.
However, four other blazes are still ravaging across WA at an emergency level threat.
It includes a fire south east of Gingin, covering parts of Bindoon and Chittering.
The blaze was first reported at about 12pm, with the warning area covering Teatree Road to the north, Great Northern Highway to the east and Loppolo Road to the south.
People are advised to leave in a westerly direction towards Brand Highway.
A second fire is burning at Nambeelup, east of Mandurah. It was reported about 1pm. The emergency warning covers Gull Road, Lakes Road and Yangedi Road, as well as the Murrayfield airport.
An evacuation centre has opened at the Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre.
Some local roads may be closed and emergency services are advising people to evacuate in a westerly direction.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is also warning anyone in the Warradarge townsite that they are in danger and need to act immediately to survive.
The emergency warning covers Chatfield Clarke Road to the east, Jurien Road to the south, Banovich Road to the west and the intersection of Brand Highway and Beros Road to the north
Brand Highway remains closed between Indian Ocean Drive and Jurien Road. Some local roads are also closed.
Nearly 150 emergency services personnel are responding to the incident, which was reportedly caused by lightning.
A fourth emergency warning has also been issued for a blaze north of Gingin in Mindarra, Mongumber, and Red Gully.
Firefighters and volunteer fire and rescue volunteers are actively tackling the blaze which was also caused by lightning.
An evacuation centre has since been set up at the Gingin Sports Centre on Weld Street.
The bushfire is said to be moving in a fast, southerly direction with aerial support being sent out to protect crews and homes. People have been advised to evacuate in an easterly direction towards Great Northern Highway if safe to do so.
The area at risk includes a number of local roads, with Mogumber Road West, Red Gully Road and parts Bindoon Moora Road closed.
WHAT TO DO
- If the way is clear, leave now for a safer place. This may be with family or friends away from the area.
- If it is safe to do so, leave in an easterly direction along Coorow-Green Head Road or south down Brand Highway.
- Do not wait and see, leaving at the last minute could put your life in danger.
- Take your emergency kit with you.
- If you become stuck in your car, park away from bushes, cover yourself with a woollen blanket, get onto the floor as the windows may break from the intense heat.
- Close all doors and windows and turn off evaporative air conditioners but keep water running through the system if possible.
- If you cannot leave, you need to get ready to shelter in your home.
- You must shelter before the fire arrives, as the extreme heat will kill you before the flames reach you.
- Go to a room in your home where you can shelter from the approaching fire.
- The room should have running water, such as a kitchen or laundry, and have a clear exit so you can easily escape.
