A popular bowling alley in Perth’s north has gone up in flames, forcing the venue into an indefinite closure.
Rosemount Bowl on Fitzgerald Street in North Perth went up in flames Monday about 6.10pm, triggering a frantic evacuation from the bowling alley, Pot Black and Bloodlines.
Five DFES crews from Vincent, Osborne Park and Perth attended and contained the fire, caused by an oil fryer, to the kitchen area by 6.35pm.
The business confirmed at about 10pm that everyone had been evacuated safely and no one was injured.
“It is with great sadness that we inform our valued customers that Rosemount Bowl has experienced a fire and, as a result, will be closed until further notice,” the business said in a social media statement.
“Our priority right now is dealing with the situation and assessing the next steps. We understand this will impact many of our customers, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.
“We will provide further updates as soon as we are able.”
It’s understood the fire, which was extinguished by 7pm, was not suspicious and is being managed by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
