Potentially dangerous smoke was being blown from a house fire in Willetton as parts of Perth were being battered by rain and winds on Monday night.

Fire severely damaged a property on Condor Circle after it was reported about 6pm. By 6.34pm it was controlled and it was fully extinguished by 7.03pm.

DFES deployed six crews from Canning Vale, Murdoch and Welshpool, and warned of potentially dangerous smoke being blown from the home.

“There is a fire in a residential duplex resulting in potentially dangerous smoke being blown over nearby residences,” it said in an emergency WA advice alert.

“There is no direct threat to lives or homes.”

Locals were urged to shut windows and doors to avoid inhaling smoke.

Nearby resident Monique Poh said there was “numerous little explosions as the house burnt down”.

Ms Poh said the home had likely been destroyed and that a car parked at the property was consumed by flames.

“We heard the car horn going off and slowly fade as it burnt.”

Emergency services removed the smoke alert about 8.30pm.

DFES confirmed all residents evacuated in time and no one was hurt.

There was damage to about 65 per cent of the home, a spokesperson said.
