Bentley fire: One person missing as explosion, flames engulf home on Stannard Street

A home in Perth’s south has been engulfed by fire and one person is unaccounted for following an explosion at the property on Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to the single story home on Stannard Street in Bentley at about 11.30am, after receiving a call to Triple-0 reporting the loud bang.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the home was fully alight by the time crews arrived on scene.
Firefighters attempted to search the home for any occupants but were forced to evacuate as the roof started to collapse from the intense heat.
A secondary search of the property commenced at about 12.30pm for one occupant who remains unaccounted for.

The incident has been handed over to police and fire investigators remained at the scene until late in the afternoon.
WA Police have not commented on the investigation.
