A section of the Kwinana Freeway remains closed to morning traffic after a horror crash claimed the life of a young woman in Baldivis on Wednesday night. The 21-year-old woman was driving a Nissan X-Trail that collided with a Nissan Maxima being driven by a 28-year-old woman while travelling northbound on the Kwinana Freeway. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene, but the 21-year-old woman died a short time later. The other driver was taken to hospital for assessment. One of the cars is understood to have rolled as a result of the crash. Major crash officers are investigating the incident. A section of the Kwinana Freeway northbound between Mundijong and Mortimer roads in Baldivis remains closed to traffic. Main Roads WA advises drivers to avoid the area completely or exercise extreme caution and allow extra time to deal with congestion and delays. Police are urging anyone who saw the crash, or the two cars travelling in the area prior to the crash, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online.
