Desperate search for man, 76, missing from Tasmania bushland

Police are urgently searching for a man who went for a bushwalk in Tasmania’s northeast on Sunday afternoon and has not been since.

Peter Willoughby, 76, was on a walk through dense bushland, about 2km from Hollybank, before disappearing.

He was last seen wearing a pair of blue jeans, a dark jumper and sneakers.

“Peter is being treated for a medical condition, which may result in him being disoriented,” as police statement read.

Tasmania SES, search and rescue teams, and paramedics are assisting police in the search, both on foot and with ATVs.

“The Westpac rescue helicopter Tasmania and drone capability are also being utilised to conduct search aerial searches,” police said.
