The father of a 23-year-old man allegedly shot by his roommate inside his Warnbro home on Sunday has revealed he held his son’s hand as he died. Gene Reynolds posted a tribute to his son, James Bradley Reynolds, on Facebook after he died on Monday afternoon. Police say the 23-year-old was shot in the leg by his roommate, Duke Adam Lyndsay Edis, after an altercation on Sunday night. Mr Reynolds was transferred to hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery but later died. The victim’s father posted several photos of his son with the caption: “RIP my little boy, I held your hand as you took your last breath at 2pm today.” “Will miss you 4eva (sic). My heart is broken I love you son, I don’t know how I’m gonna keep going. “I’m gonna miss you so much Jimmy, we held you as you left this world we were all with you, you weren’t alone. “My heart hurts like it never has before, I’m a broken man a lost father ... I just want him back.” Dozens of people reached out to the father, expressing their condolences over his loss. The man accused of killing James Reynolds appeared in court Tuesday morning. Duke Adam Lyndsay Edis fronted Rockingham Magistrates Court, speaking only the word “yes” to say he understood the murder charge against him. His lawyer, Shash Nigam, indicated Mr Edis intended to plead not guilty. Wearing a grey shirt and pink board shorts, the 20-year-old was remanded in custody. He will next appear via video link at the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court March 2.
