Perth detectives investigating after man in 20s stabbed during Babbu Maan show at Perth Concert Hall

Detectives are investigating after a man was slashed with a box cutter during a show at Perth Concert Hall on Sunday night. Police were called to the venue on St Georges Terrace about 9.30pm over reports a man has been stabbed inside. Indian performer Babbu Maan — billed as one of the “biggest stars of Punjabi music” — performed on the night. St John WA attended the scene and treated the man, who is aged in his 20s and understood to have suffered minor injuries. He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital. No charges have been laid yet, with Police Commissioner Col Blanch on Wednesday confirming the incident was confined between two people. “I believe there was an altercation between two people and one person was slashed in the arm,” he said. “We believe the weapon was a box cutter, which we have seized. “The box cutter — we’re doing some checks on that, and we’re speaking to witnesses.
