A woman was sexually assaulted in broad daylight while sunbathing at a Northbridge park last week, with police calling for anyone who might have information about the incident to come forward — including the victim.

The woman was soaking in the sun at Robertson Park on Fitzgerald Street around 4.15pm on Tuesday, January 17 when she was approached by a man.

Police believe the man then attempted to sexually assault the woman, who managed to escape and seek assistance from a passerby. At that point, the man fled the scene of the attack.

Detectives are keen to speak to the victim — who has not come forward to report the assault — as well as anyone else who was near the park at the time of incident.

No description of the alleged offender has been provided at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
