Kalbarri woman stable after stab in back as another woman charged over the attack

A 55-year-old woman is in a stable condition at Royal Perth Hospital after she was stabbed in the back at a home in Kalbarri.

The woman was first treated at Kalbarri Health Campus with a stab wound in her back on Friday, prompting medical staff to contact police.

She was then flown by Royal Flying Doctor Service to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition.

Geraldton detectives arrived at a house in Cornell Place soon after and arrested 28-year-old Tarni Temahoa Raw in relation to a family violence incident.

She was taken to Geraldton Hospital for a health assessment and appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on one count of aggravated grievous bodily harm via a bedside hearing this morning.

Ms Raw was remanded in custody and will next appear on Monday in Geraldton Magistrates Court.
