An allegedly stolen car has been filmed leading police on a high-speed chase through seven suburbs in 10 minutes overnight.

A 40-year-old Parmelia man has been charged over the incident that ended after the car allegedly rammed a police car in a park in Leda at about 9.40pm.

The chase began at about 9.30pm when police officers spotted a Honda CR-V allegedly stolen from a house in Shoalwater earlier that evening.

It will be alleged that when police tried to stop the driver on Rae Road, Rockingham he sped away and drove recklessly through Rockingham, Hillman, East Rockingham, Kwinana Beach, Calista, Wellard and Leda.

Police say the Honda was at times travelling 45km/h above the speed limit.

Video of the final moments of the chase show the car tearing through suburban streets while it is pursued by a police car.

Officers used a stinger to briefly stop the Honda before it allegedly ran into the side of the police car and drove into a park in Bilya Gardens, Leda.

The driver then fled the car before being arrested a short time later.

The 40-year-old Parmelia man has been charged with 13 offences including reckless driving, stealing a car, driving without a licence, aggravated burglary and breaching bail.

He is due to appear in the Rockingham Magistrate’s Court today.
