Police are hunting the rider of a motorbike which hit and killed a dog as it sped off from police near Bunbury on Monday.

Officers from the South West traffic unit are seeking the public’s help over the incident, which happened just before 4pm in the Bunbury suburb of Carey Park.

Police say they first spotted the motorcycle — with the registration plates KILLERTYRES — riding along Brittan Road in Carey Park.

When police put their lights and sirens on the motorcycle failed to stop, instead turning left onto Ecclestone Street where it headed north.

The chase was terminated and a short time later the motorcycle was seen colliding with a dog who was trying to cross the road. The dog died from its injuries.
