Police have ramped up efforts to find a woman who lured a man she had been texting to secluded bushland where he was confronted by two men who attacked and robbed him at knife-point.

The 27-year-old man had arranged to meet up with the woman — with whom he had been exchanging texts — before the incident at about 9am on November 18, described by police as a “serious” and “calculated” robbery.

Police say the victim picked up the woman on Veterans Drive in Byford, and then willingly drove her to a secluded bushland location.

The man was then assaulted and robbed at knife-point by two men believed to be known to the woman.

His white 2017 Mitsubishi Triton was stolen as well as his phone. He suffered a concussion and multiple injuries to his face and body.

Det-Sen. Const. Laura Nation said on Thursday afternoon that the victim had fully recovered from his injuries but was still “shaken”.

“The emotional damages the incident has caused will likely have a lasting effect,” she said.

“We haven’t seen anything quite of this nature ... it is a serious crime ... it was calculated and targeted and it was quite violent, so we do take it seriously.”

It is understood that the man sought help from a nearby member of the public who drove him home, and then he was able to call police.

Det-Sen Const. Nation said police had made multiple inquiries however were again appealing for the public’s assistance to identify the woman, and the two men allegedly involved.

“We are confident that someone out there will know the identity of the woman,” she said.

“Police are further seeking the public’s assistance to locate the victim’s stolen motor vehicle as well as try and identify the two men that are involved in this offence.

“We have pursued several lines of inquiry, but community assistance plays an integral role in crimes of this nature.”

CCTV footage released by police shows the victim and the woman pulling up to a service station before the alleged armed robbery.

The 27-year-old man had met the woman in person a week prior and had been texting to arrange to meet up on the day of the alleged incident.

Police believe it is an isolated incident, and it is understood the pair had not met through an online dating app.

The woman is described as a young Caucasian female who has medium to long brown hair.

Anyone who recognises the woman in the footage provided by police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online.
