Beeliar stabbing: Teenager in Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries after late night attack

A teenager is in hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing attack in Perth’s southern suburbs in the early hours of Saturday morning. The 15-year-old boy was in the carpark of a fast food restaurant on Durnin Ave, Beeliar, about 12.30am on Saturday with two friends, a male and female, when the group was approached by a man. It is believed a brief verbal altercation happened before the man left the area. A short time later, about 12.50am, the victim and his female friend were walking across a nearby oval on Ivankovich Avenue when the man approached for a second time. It is believed the man and teen engaged in a short physical altercation in which the teen was stabbed, suffering several puncture wounds. Three ambulance crews attended the scene with the 15-year-old rushed to Royal Perth Hospital under lights and sirens for serious injuries. He was in a stable condition on Saturday afternoon. Detectives believe both parties are known to each other and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Police are still investigating with no one in custody at this stage.
