A crime scene has been established under one of Brisbane’s most well-known landmarks after the discovery of a body.

Police were called to the river’s edge at Kangaroo Point, underneath the Story Bridge, about 7.30am on Monday.

A man’s body had been found in the water.

Authorities have established a crime scene, with detectives yet to determine if the death was suspicious.

The man was believed to be aged in his 40s or 50s.

He was about 175cms tall, with a proportionate build, short dark hair with a little grey and clean-shaven.

He had no tattoos or jewellery.

Police are urging anyone with information about the man’s identity to come forward.
