Campbelltown TAFE locked down, water pistol seized from 16yo after major police operation Narellan Rd

A major police operation at a TAFE campus in an outer southwestern Sydney suburb has concluded, with police seizing a water pistol from a young girl after receiving reports of two individuals “acting suspiciously”. The campus in Campbelltown, located on Narellan Rd, was plunged into lockdown about 4.30pm on Tuesday. Police were alerted by security that two people were seen to be “acting suspiciously”. An image obtained by NewsWire captures a woman carrying an object, which was believed to resemble a firearm, in her hand. In a statement, NSW Police said officers reviewed CCTV holdings and commenced inquiries into the whereabouts of the two people. “Police completed a sweep of all classrooms and buildings within the campus, with no items of interest located,” the statement reads. Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended a house in Campbelltown and spoke with a 16-year-old girl about 7pm. A water pistol was seized. NSW Police have said investigations continue.
