Old fashioned service is a trademark of the Vasse General Store with the store owners this month celebrating 20 years of operating the local produce business.

Co-owners Neil and Gloria MacDonald purchased the store in July 2000 to provide a bricks and mortar shop for developing local businesses such as Crackatinny Jerky, Yallingup Bread as well as selling local firewood and gas delivery.

The MacDonalds reminisced on some of the endearing experiences they have witnessed over the 20 years including providing shelter to stranded travellers and delivering seven-day service with a smile.

“What we do and the service we give seven days a week is like nowhere else,” Mr MacDonald said.

“It’s the service you give to the community. We have a great rapport with everyone from locals to visitors. When people come down from Perth they like the home-made things and country items,” Mrs MacDonald said.
