One of the Broome Golf Club’s biggest annual events turned into a beautiful opportunity for a local teenager to pay tribute to his late father.

Young gun Craig Marrs beat golfers from Broome and around WA to win the 2020 Broome Open, which took place last Saturday and Sunday.

Marrs finished on 82 points, 10 points clear of runners-up Craig Coulson and Douglas Harris to take the win, a year after his father Phil Marrs won the 2019 Broome Open.

Ann Smith was the big winner for the ladies in a close competition, finishing on 74 points, followed by Bernie Smith on 72 and Liz Muenchow on 70.

The Broome Golf Club took to social media to thank its sponsors, its staff, and everyone who took part in the Broome Open.
