Tradies knocked off their steel-capped boots and donned their best shirts when they showed out in force for the Broome Turf Club’s Tradies Day on Friday July 25.

The day included live music, a men’s only Fashions on the Field competition, plenty of horse racing and the infamous Undie Run with Reece Holland victorious.

The feature race, the Cable Beach Caravan Park Cup, saw Striking Fella, ridden by Kristy Bennett and trained by Peter Bamford, win comfortably in 1.46.58, with a margin of 0.4 lengths.

Striking Fella was followed by Magnaburma, ridden by Mollie Clark and trained by Kayla Farrell into second place and Gambler’s Gold, ridden by Kyra Yuill and trained by Darryn Pateman in third place.

The Broome racing season still has four more dates to go with the season wrapping up with the Broome Cup on August 16.
