Broome’s Jack Martin back on form with three-goal display

A number of Kimberley players were back in AFL action over the weekend, with Broome’s Jack Martin slotting three goals for Carlton for the first time since round two.

Despite Martin’s efforts, Melbourne snatched a last-gasp victory from the Blues by five points, 11.13 (79) to 10.14 (74).

Halls Creek’s Shane McAdam returned to form this round, slotting two goals for the Crows during the last half and making 11 disposals before retiring with a hamstring injury.

The two teams were tied at three-quarter time, but the Crows proved too slick for the Kangaroos, kicking the last five goals of the match and winning 15.13 (103) to 10.14 (74).

The Gold Coast Suns suffered a huge defeat to Geelong at Metricon Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Halls Creek’s Jy Farrar made a solid 18 disposals in the full back position but the Cats had no problem breaking through the Suns’ defence, winning 18.11 (119) to 9.5 (59).

The Sydney Swans struck down the Collingwood Magpies on Sunday afternoon.

Halls Creek’s Ash Johnson continued his goal streak, scoring a goal and a behind. Johnson has now scored in every match he has played.

But the Swans proved to be the better side, defeating the Magpies by 27 points, 11.11 (77) to 7.8 (50).

Derby’s Callum Ah Chee, out with concussion, was absent in the Brisbane Lions’ 12.9 (81) to 9.12 (66) win against St Kilda.
