When travelling recently in search of wildflowers, I came across a scene of mass butchering of kangaroos in an attractive setting close to a main road.

I was appalled that hunters could be so disregarding of environmental standards and community responsibility.

There were severed heads, entrails, limbs and tails left scattered about.

The air was abuzz with hundreds of flies, and an unbearable stench pervaded the area.

I have written to the responsible shire and to the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions to report this occurrence.

I appeal to the public to report similar finds to appropriate authorities in the hope that we can reduce or eliminate such disgusting contamination of our pristine and natural habitat.
