A new, locally-owned branch of fitness business Fitstop is making an early mark on Albany’s sporting scene, securing naming rights to one of the city’s major playing venues.

Fitstop Albany will take on the naming rights for Railways Football and Sporting Club, which will be known as Fitstop Stadium for the next 12 months in partnership with the club.

The partnership comes ahead of the gym’s official opening in May, giving the new business strong visibility with the local community through one of Albany’s busiest sporting clubs.

Fitstop Albany manager Jaimi-Lee Morrison said the partnership was a natural fit, particularly given the club’s strong presence in the region.

“It’s a great opportunity to get our new business out there,” she said.

“We have a lot of relations to Railways anyway, through the sporting background but I guess for us it allows us to promote our new business.

“For us to be able to have the sign there will bring more attention to our business.”

Ms Morrison said aligning with such a well-known club offered valuable exposure as the business prepares to open its doors.

“Railways are such a big club,” she said.

“I think it’s just putting our name out into the world, out to the Albany community and wider.

“We are super excited about the partnership with Railways.”

Fitstop Albany staff are signing up foundation members ahead of their official opening on May 23.

The new gym will be located at 170 Albany Highway and aims to tap into the region’s strong sporting culture.
