There is an important reason to get active and outdoors with the family this Mother’s Day.

BodyCare Health Club is running the first Albany Mother’s Day Classic, raising funds to find a cure for breast cancer.

The 5km or 10km run or walk along Middleton Beach aims to give people something meaningful to do with their mums on Mother’s Day.

Events manager Pam Russell said it would be a great way to get the family together in honour of anyone who had been affected by the disease, so that one day, it could be a thing of the past.

“Every dollar is a step closer to a world without cancer.”

People are encouraged to wear something pink, creating a sea of people in the colour associated with breast cancer awareness.

The morning will include Sh’bam and Tabata fitness classes, prizes and raffles, food and coffee.

There will be donation tins for those who want to give money but not take part in the event. The Mother’s Day Classic will start at 8.15am on Sunday.

People can register at the gate or online at moth ersdayclassic.com.au.
