The beat of one of Australia’s biggest music stars is set to shake Albany this August, with chart-topping performer Baker Boy bringing his high-energy show to the Great Southern for the first time.
As part of the expanded Live @ the Town Hall series, Baker Boy will headline Albany Town Hall on August 22 alongside acclaimed First Nations artist Miss Kaninna, with more support acts to be announced.
A proud Yolnu man, Baker Boy was the 2019 Young Australian Artist of the Year and is a multi award-winning artist.
Now one of Australia’s most influential music acts, Baker Boy is known for blending hip-hop, dance, culture and language into electrifying performances.

His debut album Gela made history as the first album by an Indigenous artist to win ARIA album of the year and earned him five ARIA Awards.
His second album, DJANDJAY, released last October also received widespread critical acclaim.
The Albany performance marks a milestone for the Live @ the Town Hall series, as it brings one of the country’s most in-demand performers to regional audiences.
Miss Kaninna whose music, voice and presence have quickly captured national attention will join him on the night.
Originally from Tasmania and of Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrun, Kalkadoon and Yirendali heritage, she made history with debut single Blak Britney becoming the first independent Aboriginal woman nominated for an ARIA award for a debut single.
City of Albany arts and culture manager Paul Nielson said securing both artists reflected the growing success of the series.

“Live @ the Town Hall continues to deliver outstanding live music experiences for our community while attracting nationally acclaimed artists to Albany,” he said.
“Baker Boy and Miss Kaninna are two of the most exciting performers in Australia today, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the Albany Town Hall stage.”
