Albany 2026: The Advertiser’s call out for stories that offer a glimpse into our city’s bicentenary history
There is no doubt that almost everyone in Albany has a story that offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of the place we call home.
Whether you were a patron of the Premier Hotel the day it burnt down, a whaler who remembers his last expedition or simply someone who knows when Dog Rock got its collar painted on — we want to here from you.
As part of our extensive Albany 2026 coverage, we will be dedicating at least one page in every edition of our Tuesday and Thursday newspapers and weekly free paper, The Extra, to the people, landmarks and stories that make up our city.
As Albany’s newspaper of record for almost 200 years, the Advertiser invites you to be a part of the biggest milestone year the State has seen and contribute to our special bicentenary coverage.
We want to cover as many stories that make up Albany’s rich tapestry as possible and don’t consider any story too small.
