Bornholm Hall was a riot of colour and activity on Friday, October 2 as hundreds poured into the Great Southern town for a free day of fun.
Hosted by the Bornholm Hall committee at their venue on Lower Denmark Road, the Bornholm Family Fun Day well-lived up to its name according to organiser Melissa Wolfe.
“It was absolutely brilliant, we really couldn’t have asked for better day,” she said.
“The only problem really was that the lines were too long but that’s not a terrible issue — everyone had a great time.”
Ms Wolfe said this was the third iteration of the event since 2023, having taken last year off while the new playground was being built at the site.

It was the biggest yet thanks to bicentenary funding from the City of Albany through the Bornholm Festival of Halls.
“It was really nice seeing new families come to the hall and experience the facilities and mums and babies relaxing under the trees,” she said.
“It’s not just about putting on an event for the suburb, we’re halfway between Albany and Denmark so we invite everyone.”
She estimates about 500 people filtered through the grounds across the day to enjoy the huge range of free entertainment and food on offer.
Children enjoyed the antics of Jamie the Clown, the Shanti Fairy, Nan’s Face Art face painting, Earth Parenting, and a bouncy castle, plus a range of activities offered by the Southern Aboriginal Corporation, Bunnings and the Lockyer Child and Parent Centre.
Local market stalls, Quenda Coffee and a CWA cake stall entertained the parents while the Bornholm Volunteer Fire Brigade ran a sausage sizzle and fire safety workshops for families.
