Ahead of the game that would see old rivalries reignited as almost 60,000 footy fans watched on, special guests were invited to Crown Perth’s Crystal Club for an exclusive taste of what was to come at the AFL Origin clash.

Political and business leaders joined sporting personalities, including commentators Brian Taylor, Kane Cornes and Luke Hodge, who took part in a lively panel discussion and quiz.

Seven West Media chairman Kerry Stokes, Deputy Premier Rita Saffioti and outgoing AFL chairman Richard Goyder were also in attendance, with Goyder presented with a personalised cartoon by The West Australian’s Dean Alston in recognition of his tenure.
