Police release CCTV of hooded men who set home and vehicles alight

Shocking CCTV footage shows two hooded men target a Sydney home and a vehicle that were set alight and sprayed with anti-Semitic graffiti.

Police released vision of the incident that occurred on Military Road at Dover Heights about 3.45am on January 17 this year to help identify the offenders.

Police believe a former resident of the home, Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-chief executive Alex Ryvchin, was the intended target of the attack.

Mr Ryvchin told media following the attack he sold the home three years earlier and had not lived their since.

He called on Australians to condemn the spree of anti-Semitic attacks and said the perpetrators were “terrorists”.

“There are people who are so consumed by hatred that they seek to burn people who disagree with their words,” he said after the attack.

“I fear we’re going to wake up before long with someone dead.”

The footage shows two hooded men pull up in a dark coloured hatchback and grab a jerry can from the boot of the car.

One man sprays anti-Semitic graffiti on a vehicle and the other man approaches a home carrying a jerry can.

He runs back to the car and the two men leave the scene.

A police spokesman said four men had been charged over their alleged roles in the attack and were before the courts.

Strike Force Pearl detectives have released vision of a vehicle and two men police believe can assist with their inquiries.

“Both men depicted are described as being of medium build and shown wearing dark hooded jumpers and pants,” a police spokesman said.

“The vehicle is described as a dark coloured hatchback. It is believed to have travelled to and from the Dover Heights area via New South Head Road.”

Police urged anyone with information or dashcam to contact Crime Stoppers.
