Police assaulted at out of control Halloween party with 400 revellers and gatecrashers

Two police officers have been assaulted trying to disperse hundreds of intoxicated gatecrashers from an out of control Halloween party.

Police received multiple calls that a party was getting out of hand after 400 people turned up to a gathering on Linton St North at Byford, in Perth’s southeast, about 9.35pm on Friday.

When police arrived they found hundreds of intoxicated people in the vicinity of the party.

Police shut down the party and dispersed the revellers, but two officers were assaulted in the process.

Police allege one officer was punched to the face, and another was kicked in the knee.

A 16-year old girl from Glen Iris was charged with assaulting officers, obstructing officers and disorderly conduct.

A 21-year old Thornlie man was charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing a police officer and possessing cannabis.

They are due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Police also issued a move on order to a 17-year old.
