Aside from incorporating the latest technology, inventive design features create a home that is not only appealing but multi-functional, as cleverly demonstrated in the 2022 Telethon Home.

Home Group General Manager Chris Del Paggio said they had to be innovative in the design to create a versatile home that catered to a broad range of buyers.

“When designing for clients, we usually know their wants and needs, however with the Telethon Home we don’t yet know the lucky buyer,” he said.

The key focus of the home was to create flexible spaces that allowed for multiple possible layouts with different functions.

A key focus of this four-bedroom, two-bathroom project was to create flexible spaces that allowed for multiple possible layouts with different functions.

“Our goal was to design a large family home that takes advantage of the Madora Bay lifestyle and integrate spaces that can be multi-purposed in their functionality,” Mr Del Paggio said.

“To achieve this, we have added columnless corner stacking doors to the already generous family room and alfresco – when opened, these doors allow the alfresco to be added to the home’s internal space.

“The theatre room was designed with a custom, oversized sliding wall panel that allows the room to be closeable but at the same time an open-plan.”

Aside from using transformative design elements, Mr Del Paggio said a deliberate selection of technology had been included.

“Considering the speed in which technology is changing and the rise in popularity of integrated customer electronics with home assistants, we opted to combine multiple consumer available smart products,” he said.

“This allows the owners to personalise their home to the way they live or further integrate new technology as it is released.

“Through one centrally located screen, the owner will be able to control and view their lighting, select power points, control the air-conditioning and heating and monitor the solar power.

“The homeowner can also set up routines and times to make their home more personalised to the way they live.”

For added security, the 2022 Telethon Home features a Google Nest Doorbell, which notifies residents of visitors via the screen or their smartphones. This allows them to answer the doorbell, whether they are home or not.

“It will even recognise familiar faces and announce them when they arrive, for example ‘John is at the front door’,” Mr Del Paggio.

Home Group will also be installing a professional home security system, which will include an electronic door latch – exclusive to Home Group – to protect the homeowner’s investment and ensure ease of access.

“Thanks to a fully programmable electronic door latch with fingerprint, swipe card or code access, the owners will never be locked out of their home again,” Mr Del Paggio said.

He said taking advantage of the beautiful Madora Bay sunlight and harnessing renewable energy was an important consideration.

“A 6.6-kilowatt battery-ready solar photovoltaic system provides additional solar power to the home,” Mr Del Paggio said.

“It is app enabled, allowing the homeowner to monitor power generation and schedule daily routines accordingly.”

Details of the sale will be revealed prior to the Telethon Weekend.
