Miley Cyrus takes stab at Aussie ex-husband Liam Hemsworth at album signing, fan shares images

Miley Cyrus has thrown some very obvious shade at ex-husband Liam Hemsworth using just three words at a meet and greet with fans.

During the event, the 32-year-old Hannah Montana star met a fan who shared the same first name as her former spouse.

As she signed a copy of her new album, Something Beautiful, Miley wrote a playful message: “The Best Liam.”

The fan, delighted by the moment, posted a photo with Cyrus and captioned it: “me when I’m ‘The Best Liam.’” The autograph quickly caught attention online.

Cyrus and Hemsworth’s relationship began on the set of the 2010 film The Last Song and spanned a decade, including a secret wedding in December 2018. Their marriage ended less than a year later, with Hemsworth filing for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Their split was finalised in January 2020.

Since then, Miley has been in a relationship with drummer Maxx Morando, while Hemsworth has dated model Gabriella Brooks since late 2019.

Since their breakup, Liam has kept a relatively low profile and rarely comments on Miley or their past. Despite Miley’s public remarks, Liam has never publicly retaliated or spoken negatively about her.

The pointed autograph is just the latest in a series of public moments where Miley has seemingly taken aim at Liam. Her Grammy-winning hit ‘Flowers’ sparked massive controversy when it was released on Liam’s birthday on January 13, 2023, with fans dissecting the lyrics for references to their breakup and even rumours of infidelity.

The lyrics appear to reference their shared Malibu home that burned down in the 2018 wildfires, as well as themes of independence and moving on after their breakup.

In a recent interview on The Zane Lowe Show, Miley opened up about a health scare, sharing, “I had a medical emergency – I had an ovarian cyst rupture – we didn’t know exactly what was going on so we did it.” She added, “It was pretty traumatic because it was extremely excruciating and I did the show anyway.”

Cyrus also discussed her decade-long sobriety, saying, “I need it. I live for it. It’s changed my entire life. I’ve learned this about myself over the years: sobriety is, like, that’s like my God.”

Miley is currently promoting her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, which dropped on May 30. The album release is accompanied by a musical movie of the same name, set to hit theaters on June 6.
