A runner has died in hospital after being struck by a bus in a fatal collision.

A 65-year-old man was on a morning jog along Garden St in Thornlie, in Perth’s southeast, when he was hit by a Transperth bus travelling along Forest Lakes Drive about 7.40am on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said the man suffered critical injuries in the horror crash and was rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital by St John WA paramedics.

The man could not be saved and died in hospital.

Police are examining the scene and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
