Machine Gun Kelly has mingled with Perth fans, hitting up a rooftop city bar, an iconic beach and even getting a haircut ahead of his RAC Arena show.

The 35-year-old rapper and singer — whose real name is Colson Baker — arrived in Perth this week to kick off the Australian leg of his Lost Americana tour on Wednesday night.

After an eight-year absence from Australia, he wasted no time getting reacquainted with some of Perth’s top tourist hangouts.

On Tuesday, eagle-eyed fans spotted MGK exploring Perth’s nightlife. Fan Taylor Jane and her nine-year-old daughter Saskia stopped him for a photo.

The 26-year-old super fan, who is going to the Perth concert, said he seemed like any other “normal guy”.

“He stopped for us and got a pic with us and was talking about how I was excited for the show and suggesting songs that I wanted to hear and he hinted that there might be different songs on the Australian tour,” she said.

“I love how down to earth he is and how much he adores his fans.”

Young celeb hunter Noah Gianotti was thrilled to score an autograph and photo.

The Vampire Diaries singer signed a poster with the message “Noah, grow up and be a badass.”

Noah’s father Nick Gianotti said MGK “was really nice with the kids, spoke about Red Hot Chili Peppers being one of his favourite bands and was speaking to the kids about their love of music”.

Staff at Lil’s Rooftop & Bar on Murray Street, also recognised the star during his visit.

“Machine Gun Kelly pulled up to Lil’s… no big deal,” a post shared on the venue’s Instagram account said.

The Houston-born celebrity also managed to fit in a last-minute barber appointment with MD Mobile Barber’s Abdul Majid the day before his show.

Mr Majid said he was put in touch with MGK through mutual connections and was “lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time”.

“It was a great opportunity and not something I had specifically planned, but I was obviously excited to jump on it,” he said.

“I hadn’t met him before that, so it was my first time working with him. He was super relaxed, friendly, and easy to talk to — very down-to-earth and open to trusting my style, which always makes a big difference.”

Mr Majid said he has worked with other high-profile clients before but getting to cut and style MGK’s blonde locks was a highlight.

“This was definitely a standout moment and something I’m really grateful for,” he said.

MGK also jammed in a visit to Scarborough, posting an Instagram photo of himself looking relaxed at the amphitheatre overlooking the beach.

He even used the visit to debut two new foot tattoos with one on his left foot reading “look” and the other on his right foot reading “up”.

The new ink didn’t stop there with MGK’s Los Angeles-based tattoo artist tasked with refreshing the giant MGK initials imprinted across his back, done before he set off for Australia.

MGK is a father to two daughters — 16-year-old Casie whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Emma Cannon and one-year-old Saga whom he shares with former fiancee Megan Fox.

He and Fox broke up around Thanksgiving in 2024.

While they split while Fox was pregnant with Saga they continue to co-parent, with reports suggesting they maintain a friendly relationship.
