Aquinas Reds’ hopes of breaking into the top four of the Stiles Electrical Premier League women’s hockey standings remain on hold after they drew 1-all against Wesley South Perth WASPS in Kalgoorlie-Boulder last weekend.

Reds were denied a third win, leaving them in fifth place and a point adrift of Victoria Park.

Last weekend’s Goldfields clash, which was part of the annual regional round, underpinned a low-key start to the season for both clubs, which includes three draws and a loss on Reds’ record.

WASPS are in seventh position with one win, two draws and three defeats.

The early rounds have been dominated by Westside Wolves and UWA, each with five wins.

Wolves are first on percentage, with UWA leading Hale and Victoria Park, each with three wins.
